Three men have been arrested in connection with the murder of four family members in Maputo province, a source from the National Criminal Investigation Service (Sernic) told Lusa today.
“The arrests are the result of operations carried out by Sernic, but there are still other steps to be taken,” Sernic’s provincial director in Maputo Benjamina Chaves said.
The four victims – a father, mother and two children – were murdered “using blunt instruments” on the night of November 21 in the premises of a school on the outskirts of Maputo where the father worked, Sernic said.
But “other people are also suspected, and we are on their trail”, Chaves said, promising that authorities would reveal more details about the case in due course.
