Mozambique: Homeless man found dead in Maputo's Baixa

South African Trans African Concession, the concessionaire of Mozambique’s National Road Number Four (EN4), has announced the increases in tolls due to come into force in Maputo and Moamba on Saturday, 1 February.
At the Maputo [Matola] toll, Class 1 vehicles (cars) will pay 40 meticais, against the current 35 meticais, and Class 2 vehicles (vans and double-axle buses) will pay 130 meticais against the current 120 meticais.
Class 3 vehicles (trucks and buses) will pay 375 against the current 350 meticais, and Class 4 vehicles (articulated lorries) 550, against the current 500.
At the Moamba toll, Class 1 vehicle tariffs go up from 190 meticais to 210, while Class 2 vehicles start paying 530 meticais against the current 480. Class 3 vehicle tolls rise from the current 1,100 to 1,150 meticais, with Class 4 vehicles go up from the current 1,500 to 1,600 meticais.
Semi-collective minibuses (‘chapas’) and public passenger transport will not see their tolls increase, continuing to pay 15 meticais in Maputo [Matola] and 81 meticais in Moamba. Class 2 public transport tariffs will remain at 51 and 198 meticais in Maputo [Matola] and Moamba, respectively.
The last EN4 toll adjustment took place four years ago, on 1 December 2017.
