Mozambique Elections: Over 2000 demonstrators already assisted by Bar Association
Mozambique recorded 365 deaths from malaria in the first quarter of this year, down from 456 in the same period last year.
The figures were released in Maputo on Monday by Minister of Health Armindo Tiago, at the launch of the Association for the Malaria Fund, a public-private initiative that aims to mobilise resources to cover budget shortfalls in the fight against malaria.
The minister said that deaths from malaria in Mozambique had fallen steadily over the last five years.
The Association for the Malaria Fund, Minister Tiago said, aims to support efforts to eliminate malaria through the mobilisation of financial resources.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health resumed the distribution of 16 million insecticide-treated mosquito nets, as part of initiatives to fight malaria.
