The President of Mozambique stated that the Mozambican government will continue to assume its responsibility to ensure that the cost of housing does not compromise the well-being of citizens.
Filipe Nyusi’s remarks were made yesterday in Pemba city, the provincial capital of Cabo Delgado, at the inauguration and handover ceremony of fifty houses from the “Renascer” project, one of the components of the “Habita Moçambique” program.
The Mozambican President mentioned that, according to projections, in twenty-six years, over half of the Mozambican population will be living in cities.
He emphasized that the housing construction process has had multiplier effects.
The beneficiaries of the houses stated that owning a home is undoubtedly the fulfillment of a dream.
In Cabo Delgado province, the “Renascer” project includes a batch of one hundred houses that, besides Pemba, also covers the districts of Mecúfi and Montepuez.
