The circulation of vehicles on the bridge over the Save River, in Inhambane province, has been subject to temporary restrictions from this Monday, June 27, until November of this year.
A National Roads Administration (ANE) press release says that the traffic restrictions will permit the transport of reinforced concrete beams from the south to the north banks of the river and the carrying out of work related to the construction of the viaducts approaching the bridge, on the wake of construction works of the news Save bridge and rehabilitation works on the old bridge.
Traffic flow restrictions will be implemented on the temporary bridge in both directions from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on working days.
Normal traffic flow will take place outside those periods.
The ANE again urges that the gross weight of vehicles circulating on national roads should not exceed 48 tonnes, with permissible load limits per axle or group of axles strictly observed.
