Construction of the electricity transmission line between Temane and Maputo, covering a length of around 580 kilometres, could be completed in July. Its execution level currently stands at 75%.
This information was shared on Friday by Fernando Andela, acting as spokesperson for the II Ordinary Session of the State Representation Services in Maputo.
Andela explained that the most difficult work had been completed, namely civil construction including the assembly of the towers, and that the assembly of the cables was now underway.
“There is an effort by Maputo province to support the project’s executors so that it can be completed by mid-July 2024,” he said.
The 400-kilovolt transmission line runs from Temane Thermal Power Station in Inhassoro district, Inhambane province, to Maputo, with three substations serving the route, namely Vilankulo-Chibuto, Chibuto-Matalane, and Matalane-Beluluane.
