A 17-year-old boy who was shot three times in the feet, allegedly by a police officer, has had one of his legs amputated due to the severity of his injuries.
The victim, who is currently hospitalised, was one of a group of students who regularly gathered at a bakery near their school to buy bread.
He allegedly ignored a request by a police officer who asked him and his colleagues to clear the entrance to the bakery
The officer, Miramar reports, allegedly asked the boys’ colleagues to move away and then fired a first shot on his right foot and two on the left,
The teenager further says, in the TV Miramar report, that he apologised, but this did not prevent him from being shot in the legs.
The family says that the case is not being followed up, and the whereabouts of the perpetrator are so far unknown.
The victim’s grandmother is demanding justice, saying in tears that the teenager, who attended night school, was her hope for the future, and would grow up and help support the family.
