Mozambique: UEM professor awarded 'Best Doctoral Thesis' in Brazil

Mozambique is participating, from today until Thursday, in the second edition of the African Conference on Agricultural Technologies (ACAT) in Kigali, Rwanda, which aims to mobilize resources to strengthen agricultural biotechnology.
The event, spearheaded by former president of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan, and will bring together around 750 participants from more than 30 countries, to discuss the application of agricultural technology as a means of ensuring food security in the sub-Saharan region.
In this edition, the debates will be focused on the theme “NextGen Ag-Tech Solutions for Africa’s Farmers”.
Among other successful endeavours to be showcased by Mozambique in Rwanda are the fruits of the trials of biotechnological corn varieties, which took place between 2022 and 2024, in the districts of Boane, Chókwè, Vandúzi, Tete, Ribaué, and Lichinga, in the provinces of Maputo, Gaza, Manica, Tete, Nampula and Niassa, respectively.
