The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, last week urged the Border Police to reinforce surveillance along the border line with Tanzania, to prevent terrorists from entering the Province of Cabo Delgado. Rádio Moçambique reports.
The Head of State was addressing last Thursday, in the town of Mueda, officers from various branches of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM).
“We want to tell you to remain firm, now more than ever, because this is a time when the terrorist thinks he must increase his activity but we think he is completely in despair. He enters a village, shoots into the air, scares the population away and robs, burns down one or two houses to say that he attacked. So, I want to directly say to you. who are border guards, to remain firm, without fear, in each part, in each district, in each locality and in each administrative post. Your presence is fundamental to representing power, you as Police of the Republic of Mozambique,” he said.
Before visiting Mueda, President Nyusi visited the Macarara military barracks, located in Ancuabe district.
