One person dead, seven injured, 500 families displaced and several destroyed infrastructure is the preliminary assessment of the passage of Severe Tropical Storm Filipo, in Inhambane province.
The delegate from the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD), Gilberto Miguel, who provided the data to Rádio Moçambique, says that work is currently underway to evacuate the victims to safer areas.
Storm Filipo also destroyed 14 health units, six schools and 30 classrooms in Inhambane province.
