Mozambique: Central bank holds 6th Annual Meeting of Branch Directors in Quelimane

The government will sell 91 percent of its State shares in the Mozambican Airlines Company (LAM).
The decision was approved this Tuesday by the Council of Ministers, which also authorized the Ports and Railways of Mozambique company, the Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Plant and the EMOSE insurance company to acquire the [above-mentioned] LAM shares.
The Spokesperson for the Council of Ministers, Inocêncio Impissa, said that the amount raised is intended to be invested in the acquisition of eight aircraft and the restructuring of the flag carrier.
With the sale of 91 percent of LAM shares, the government expects to raise 130 million US dollars.
