Mozambique: Business conditions deteriorate in November amid protests - Standard Bank PMI
From March 17, the Tax Authority will prohibit the selling of cigarettes, cigars and cigarillo in packages which do not bear an official seal. Two months later, the same compulsory seals will be imposed on alcoholic beverages.
The measures are part of the tobacco control convention Mozambique ratified last year, O País reports, in the context of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control established in 2004, to which Mozambique is a signatory.
On Friday the Tax Authority and the Mozambican Association of Public Health held a meeting and discussed implementation strategies to ensure the efficiency of the process.
