Mozambique: Standing Commission meets to convene extraordinary session of Parliament

The President of the Assembly of the Republic, Esperança Bias, has convened the 42nd Ordinary Session of the Standing Commission of the Assembly of the Republic (CPAR) for the 18th of July, to deliberate on parliament’s fifth Extraordinary Session.
In a dispatch issued on Thursday afternoon and sent to the leaders of the parliamentary benches, Esperança Bias proposes that the extraordinary session take place from the 3rd to the 7th of August, with three points on the agenda:
- the discussion of the project for a specific revision of the Constitution of the Republic;
- the revision of the Basic Law of the Bodies of Local Authorities; and
- the proposal for revision of the Labour Law.
