The company Mwendo Engineering SA, a Mozambican public limited company operating in the oil, gas and energy sector, hopes to capture business in the context of hydrocarbon exploration in the Rovuma basin, Cabo Delgado province.

Mwendo Engineering SA aims in the near future to establish partnerships with various companies operating in the gas sector in the Mozambican market such as TotalEnergies, Eni, Sasol, ENH and subcontractors.
The need for greater participation of Mozambican companies in gas exploration projects underway in the country was put forward by Florival Mucave, president of the Mozambique Energy Chamber and president of Mwendo Engineering SA, speaking to the press on the sidelines of the 7th summit and exhibition of gas and energy in Mozambique, held recently in Maputo.
Mucave said that the company had plans to expand to Cabo Delgado, in the districts of Pemba and Palma, and also to Inhassoro district, Inhambane province, where important gas exploration projects are underway by Sasol and construction of a Temane power plant to produce 450 MW of electricity.
According to Mucave, the company’s aim is also to train young Mozambicans to ensure the transfer of capacity and knowledge and also to contribute to the return of displaced populations to their places of origin, through job creation.
Mozambique’s 7th gas and energy summit and exhibition was held in Maputo and brought together the entire national and international energy industry to discuss policies, project development and energy transition in Mozambique.
This event promoted local content development, with an international conference and exhibition that ensured the visibility of SMEs and entrepreneurship in the country, as well as serving as a platform to share policy and regulatory updates and information on financial support opportunities available for start-ups.
