A small earthquake was felt in the district headquarters town of Morrumbala in Zambézia province on Monday morning. No damage was caused.
The information was confirmed by Morrumbala district administrator João Nhambeza, who reported that the earthquake occurred at 9:28 a.m..
Nhambeza said that earthquakes were frequent in the district, with two to three earthquakes occurring per year.
