Mozambique: Six possible financiers of Cabo Delgado terrorism identified – Carta report

‘Carta de Moçambique’ sources maintain that the Mozambican authorities have now identified six possible financiers of the terrorist group which has sown panic, mourning and terror in districts of Cabo Delgado province since October, 2017.
According to the Carta sources, of the six possible funders, three are based in the United Republic of Tanzania and three in Mozambique. Of those in Mozambique, two are in the city of Maputo and one in the city of Pemba, the provincial capital of Cabo Delgado.
The same sources reveal neither names nor the means used to channel the funds,
The sources told Carta that the improvement of operations in the North Operational Theatre resulting from the arrival of Rwandan and SADC troops, which have contributed with their intelligence, have enabled the identification of the above-mentioned individuals.

The same Carta sources believe that more people, both Mozambican and foreign, are involved in financing the terrorist attacks, which have cost the lives of some 2,000 people and forced the displacement of an estimated 800,000.
