The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) reported in Maputo on Monday that it still has no leads on the whereabouts of the Portuguese businessman kidnapped in Maputo on 29 October.
Spokesperson for the National Criminal Investigation Service Hilário Lole said that the case was still under active investigation and promised to provide further information soon.
Lole confirmed that the vehicle used in the kidnapping was set on fire approximately 30 kilometres south of the city of Maputo, making it difficult to collect evidence.
The Portuguese businessman was kidnapped in broad daylight in the Mozambican capital on 29 October.
Lole said that SERNIC would inform the media as soon as there was progress in the investigation.
