In the context of pandemic prevention measures, all applicants for passports, DIRE documents or visa renewals in the city and province of Maputo will have to make an appointment in advance, @Verdade reports.
SENAMI spokesman Celestino Matsinhe announced that, starting next Tuesday (8 September), applicants for passports, Residency Document for Foreigners (DIRE) or visa renewals will have to make appointments prior to attending.
This is a new scheduling and validation system which enters into effect this Friday (September 4) in Maputo city and Maputo province, in an experimental phase.
Users must pre-book on the www.sigav.senami.gov.mz website, through the call centre on 90245 (from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) or schedule in person at the Provincial Directorate of Migration (from 7:30 a.m. to 15:30 p.m.).
People will be called according to register.
According to Matsinhe, after the applicant’s eligibility has been verified, the system [SIGAV – Scheduling and Validation Management System] will send a message to the applicant’s mobile phone or email, indicating the date and time to go to the institution for data collection [process the document]. In case the applicant is not eligible, the system will inform about the reasons for impediment.
