MozParks welcomed the Secretary of State for Maputo Province, Henriques Bongece, for his first official visit to Beluluane Industrial Park. The visit focused on the role of industrial parks in creating employment and supporting economic development in the province.
Bongece was accompanied by a delegation of senior provincial officials from key sectors including labour, finance, agriculture, industry, health, and statistics. The visit began with a presentation by MozParks General Director, Onório Manuel, who outlined the company’s national strategy and its contribution to job creation. Beluluane Industrial Park alone has created over 10,000 jobs, with a strong emphasis on youth employment.
The delegation visited Sunshine Nut Company, where CEO Don Larson spoke about his long-term work in Mozambique and the company’s commitment to local processing and employment. They also toured the facilities of Godrej Group, currently the park’s largest employer, where General Manager Bharani Ganesh shared insights into their operations and ongoing challenges.
At the conclusion of the visit, Bongece acknowledged the contribution of MozParks to job creation in the province and emphasized the strategic value of industrial parks. He confirmed the provincial government’s commitment to working closely with MozParks to support the continued growth of industrial activity in Maputo.
