Administrators from districts of Niassa and Nampula provinces bordering Cabo Delgado have met to discuss strategies to stop the recruitment of young people into the terrorists’ ranks.
They were joined by administrators of districts in Cabo Delgado and by religious leaders from Tanzania, Kenya and Nigeria.
The meeting, which ended on Friday, was promoted by the Peace Clubs platform,
The president of the Clubes de Paz Moçambique, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Nampula and Cabo Delgado, Emanuel Ernesto, said that the organization was concerned about the enticing of young people into the ranks of terrorists, with the emphasis on creating new narratives and fostering healthy habits to counter any such temptation.
