Sasol in Mozambique has handed over a new classroom block to the Mangarelane 1 community in Inhassoro District, benefiting more than 100 pupils. Delivered on 04 August 2025, the project, which forms part of the Local Development Agreements (ADL), includes fully equipped classrooms and an administrative wing, significantly improving local learning conditions.
Speaking at the official handover ceremony, Senior Manager Mozambique Corporate Affairs, Mateus Mosse, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainable development. “This initiative supports the Government’s broader efforts to expand access to education in rural areas,” he said.
Representing the district government, Tenito Machava, Director of Inhassoro’s District Planning and Infrastructure Services, described the school as the fruit of strong partnership between government and private sector. “This is a shared effort between Government and Sasol, it will ease overcrowding and raise education standards. Pupils, teachers, and the wider community all stand to benefit,” he noted.
Local community leader, Paiva Zivane, welcomed the gesture: “We are grateful to Sasol for their willingness to support projects that bring real change to our community, like this classroom block.”
This follows the delivery of five similar school blocks in 2024 across other communities in Inhassoro, highlighting Sasol’s continued investment in education as a driver of social transformation.
