Police Commander-in-Chief Bernardino Rafael has instructed provincial commands of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) to resume alcohol testing for motorists, suspended in 2020 due to Covid-19.
The document [below] seen by Miramar indicates that the measure aims to strengthen attempts to prevent and combat road accidents, which have recently resulted in high casualty numbers.
In addition to the reintroduction of alcohol testing, the PRM commander has instructed the commands to intensify accident prevention appeals.
