Mozambique: HMM creates committee to investigate "piece of cloth" case

The Ministry of Health reported on Saturday [January 30] afternoon, seven Covid-19 deaths , two in the province of Maputo and five in the city of Maputo. Of these, two deaths were declared on the 27th of January and five were declared on the 29th of January. All patients are Mozambican men aged between 49 and 75.
The Ministry of Health also reported 597 newly diagnosed cases,bringing the cumulative to 37,705,
The ages of the 597 new cases reported today today are as follows:
Of the newly diagnosed cases, 575 are Mozambicans, two individuals are foreigners and 20 are nationalities yet to be determined; 300 (50.3%) are men or boys and 297 (49.7%) are women or girls.
All the new cases reported today are the result of local transmission ”, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.
The note also states that the city of Maputo registered 158 new cases, followed by the province of Gaza with 79 cases.
MISAU reports that, in the last 24 hours, 87 patients were hospitalised and 20 were discharged.
There are currently 320 hospitalised patients in the country, of whom 246 (76.9%) in Maputo city, 17 in Maputo province, 16 in Sofala, 16 in Tete province, nine in Zambézia, seven in Gaza, seven in Manica province, two in Inhambane province, two in Nampula and two in Cabo Delgado .
The number of recoveries rose to 23,945, with 436 reported today.
Mozambique reported a cumulative number of 37,705 confirmed cases of Covid-19, since the outbreak was first detected in the country, in March 2020. Of these cases, of which 37,389 are of local transmission and 316 imported.
