Mozambique: Police concerned about murders of women in Sofala

Mozambique today (September 28) reported one more Covid-19 death in Maputo City, that of a 64-year-old Mozambican man. This brings the total number of deaths in the country to 59.
The Ministry of Health (MISAU) this Monday reported a further 305 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing to 8,288 the cumulative number of cases since the pandemic was first detected in the country.
Maputo City recorded the highest number of the 305 newly diagnosed cases reported today, with 165 new infections, corresponding to 54% of the total cases reported today across the country, followed by Maputo Province with 76 cases (25%).
The number of people who have recovered rises to 4,836 with the registration of 29 more recoveries.
Out of the cumulative cases recorded since the beginning of the outbreak in Mozambique, 7,993 cases are of local transmission and 295 are imported.
The country currently has 3,389 active cases.
