Renamo gunmen attack convoy in Báruè: Four injured – Mozambique

Another attack was recorded in the centre of the country on Sunday, with gunmen opening fire on an escorted column travelling on the Vanduzi-Rio Luenha portion of the Manica to Tete route.
There were no casualties, but two were seriously injured. One woman was shot in the foot and underwent surgery at Chimoio Provincial Hospital. The other victim was more seriously injured with a bullet wound in the neck and was transferred to Beira Central Hospital for specialised care.
The authorities say they are stepping up efforts to repel attacks along National Highway Number Seven (EN7), one of the country’s main arterial roads.
