Homes for the elderly and vulnerable children and adolescents run by religious organisations in Maputo have suspended visits and reduced the number of those in their establishments, as part of measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
Casa Madre Maria Clara, which usually shelters 80 disadvantaged children, now has only 30 occupants, having discharged 50 others with competent family members so as to reduce the number of people in the home.
