The rehabilitation of toilets in some Tete schools expected to return to face-to-face classes next Monday has not yet been concluded.
The information was provided by the Governor of Tete Province, Domingos Viola, who paid a flying visit to the Francisco Manyanga Secondary and Canongola Primary and Complete schools [both located in the City of Tete ] this Thursday.
The governor was dissatisfied to learn that the rehabilitation of the toilets at Francisco Manyanga was still in progress, since it was scheduled for completion at the beginning of last month.
“There was a commitment, and it should be kept. We are over time for classes to resume, so these works must be completed by Monday,” Viola demanded.
The contractor has now guaranteed delivery within 48 hours.
At the Canongola Primary and Complete School, the governor was disappointed by the poor quality of work, which, he said, did not come up to specification.
Tete province has a total of 779,000 students enrolled across all education subsystems.
