DP World Maputo achieved the highest recorded productivity to date on 22nd of April 2018 , with 57.47 Berth Moves per hour (BMPH). The 260m ROSA vessel controlled by Maersk Line handled 1278 TEUs with a Crane Intensity of 2.36 (Mobile Harbour Cranes).
The performance further underlines DP World Maputo’s offering as a World Class gateway for the Southern Africa market. Through the terminal’s Fixed Berthing Window program and available berth capacity, zero vessel waiting time is consistently achieved. This in turn translates to maximum schedule reliability for Importers and Exporters.
In February this year, the terminal completed the first phase of expansion, increasing the terminal capacity from 150k TEU to 350k TEU per annum. The investment is a key step in offering the hinterlands of South Africa,
Zimbabwe and Swaziland a superior supply chain solution, which is already providing the hinterland customers a key differentiator for a reliable and cost effective supply chain solution.
