The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) is forecasting moderate rainfall for the country’s entire coastline, while stressing that this amount of rain poses no danger.
This Monday morning started with rain and cloudy skies in Maputo, causing some distress to residents catching public transport in the early hours. The rainfall later stopped, although the day continues cloudy with mild temperatures and the sun occasionally peeking through.
INAM’s Acácio Tembe says the light rain will continue throughout the country’s coastal zone today.
“We are forecasting light rain along the entire coastline by Wednesday. As of Thursday, we will start to have some openings for the whole country, and for the weekend we are predicting the normalisation of the weather. The rain forecast does not present any danger to communities,” Tembe explained.
INAM once again warns of the need to take precautions, given the sharp drop in temperature this winter season.
