Launched in September, 2019, the National Company Certification Program (PRONACER) has already in its pilot phase certified four companies, the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique (CTA) announced on Wednesday (14-12) during its usual end-of-year briefing.
According to the CTA, of the 100 companies trained within the scope of the programme’s implementation, only 25 were pre-qualified, and of these, four have already received their certificates, while 16 are still in the certification process.
“The registration process under the National Company Certification Program began on December 6, 2019, in which 155 companies from all over the country were registered. Of the total companies registered, 63% are ‘small’, 19% ‘micro’ and 18% ‘medium’,” the CTA details.
According to the association, the ISO 9001 certification (quality management system) has had the greatest adherence (43%), followed by the ISO 45001 certification (Health and Safety at Work), which represents 17% and, finally, the ISO 14001 (Environmental management system), which represents 16%.
The PRONACER project implemented by CTA aims to help micro, small and medium-sized companies improve their participation in the supply chain of products, goods and services to large projects. Its goal is, over a period of five years, to qualify 1,000 companies for eligibility in oil and gas industry procurement processes.
