US Intelligence arrives in South Africa to discuss Mozambique - report

Prime Minister of Mozambique, Adriano Maleiane, is in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, where he will participate, on behalf of President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, in the African Union (AU) Extraordinary Humanitarian Summit and Pledging Conference, and in the AU Extraordinary Summit on Unconstitutional Changes of Governments in Africa.
The Prime Minister heads a delegation which includes the Minister of National Defence, Cristóvão Chume; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Manuel Gonçalves; the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Mozambique to the African Union, Ambassador Alfredo Nuvunga; plus members of staff of the Prime Minister’s Office, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the Ministry of National Defence and of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
According to a statement that Notícias has had access to, the three events are taking place under a decision of this continental organisation (Assembly Decision/AU/Dec.828 – XXXV) – adopted by the 35th Ordinary Session of the Conference of Chiefs of State and Government of the African Union, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 5 to 6 February 2022.
