Mozambique Elections: Mondlane lodges appeal to annul vote in Zimbabwe constituency
Mozambique’s President Filipe Nyusi has today promulgated the law revising the country’s National Defence and Security Policy, an amendment aimed at adapting the document to “current national and international challenges.”
The law was recently approved by the Assembly of the Republic, with the Mozambican head of state finding that it does not contradict the fundamental law (the country’s constitution), a statement from the Presidency of the Republic distributed today to the press reads.
The amendment aims to adapt the National Defence and Security Policy to the Constitution of the Republic and the current reality, in order to adjust it to current challenges, spokeswoman Ana Comoana said after the approval of the draft document by the Council of Ministers on 29 May of last year.
