Mozambique president redefines competences of Ministry of Transport and Communications

Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has determined the redefinition of competences of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Mozambique (MTC) in road, air, rail and water transport, according to a statement released today by the Presidency of the Republic.
The press release notes that the reform of MTC’s competencies also covers the port and airport infrastructure, communications and meteorology sectors.
“The presidential decree redefines the nature, powers and competencies of the Ministry of Transport and Communications” in the areas covered, according to the press release.
The note does not clarify, however, the scope and limit of the powers and attributions resulting from the redefinition of the Ministry of Transport and Communications role in relation to the areas covered by the measure.
