Mozambique: President Chapo in Guinea-Bissau for CPLP Summit

President Filipe Nyusi had a phone conversation on Monday with the outgoing Prime Minister of the Portuguese republic, António Costa, during which there was mutual expression of gratitude for the joint work on deepening cooperation between Portugal and Mozambique that had been accomplished.
On his official Facebook account, the Mozambican head of state stated that he thanked Prime Minister Costa for his direct intervention facilitating contacts with the European Union, resulting in support for Mozambique in combating terrorism and the signing of agreements during the Joint Commissions, significantly boosting bilateral cooperation.
During the phone conversation, President Filipe Nyusi expressed his readiness to work bilaterally with the new government for the well-being of both countries. On his part, António Costa wished Mozambique success in the upcoming October 2024
general elections.
