Mozambique, European Union strengthen cooperation

President Filipe Nyusi held a closed-door meeting with the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame in Nairobi, Kenya, on Monday, during his visit to attend the inauguration of Kenya’s President-elect, Wiliam Ruto, on Tuesday.
Nyusi also held meetings with several other delegations, including the special envoy of the Republic of South Korea.
On Monday, the Rwanda High Commission to Mozambique wrote on Twitter: “President Kagame met with President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi of Mozambique in Nairobi. The two leaders discussed ways to further strengthen the ongoing bilateral collaboration between Rwanda and Mozambique”.

Seventeen heads of state attended William Ruto’s inauguration, including, apart from the President of the Republic, Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan; Zimbabwe’s Emmerson Mnangagwa; DR Congo’s Felix Tshisekedi; Uganda’s Yoweri Museven); Guinea-Bissau’s Umaro Sissoco Embalo; Rwanda’s Paul Kagame; Congo’s Denis Sassou Nguesso; Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud; Tanzania’s Samia Suluhu; Malawi’s Lazarus Chakwera; Burundi’s Evariste Ndayishimiye; Eswatini Prime Minister Cleophas Dlamini; Seychelles’ Wavel Ramkalawan; President of the Union of Comoros, Azali Assoumani; and the President of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat.
A delegation representing the government and the people of Israel led by the Minister of Intelligence Elazar Stern and delegations from South Africa, the US, Iran, Nigeria, Egypt, Gambia, and India were also present, in addition to the secretary-general of the East African Community and representatives of the Intergovernmental Development Authority.
