Mozambique: Chapo urges judges to fight implacably against corruption

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, left Maputo this morning for a state visit to Botswana, until the 16th of April.
President Nyusi is accompanied by his wife; First Lady Isaura Ferrão Nyusi, by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo; of Transport and Communications, Janfar Abdulai; of Culture and Tourism, Eldevina Materula; the Minister in the President’s Office for Civil House Affairs Constantino Bacela; and the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Carlos Zacarias.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Olegário Banze; the Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce Ludovina Bernardo; the Governor of Cabo Delgado Valige Tauabo; and the Governor of Maputo Province Júlio Parruque are also travelling with the President to Botswana, as are members of the staff from the Presidency of the Republic and other state institution , according to a press release by the Presidency.
The visit comes in response to an invitation from President Nyusi’s Botswana counterpart, Mokgweetsi Masisi and aims to “strengthen, deepen and consolidate the historical relations of brotherhood, friendship, solidarity and cooperation that exist between the two peoples and countries”.
During his visit, Filipe Nyusi will hold official talks with President Masisi, as well as meeting members of the Mozambican community residing in the neighbouring country.
The agenda for the visit of the Head of State also includes participation in the Mozambique-Botswana Business Forum, as well as the inauguration of the Samora Machel Museum, in Lobatse, on Thursday.

Before leaving, the Head of State at 7:30 a.m. today participated in a ceremony at the Presidential Terminal of Maputo International Airport marking his departure on a state visit.
