President Filipe Nyusi is in Comoros where, on Sunday, he attended the inauguration of Azali Assoumani, who was re-elected, on January 14, to the position of President of the Union of Comoros.
This Monday, President Nyusi will hold official talks with his counterpart of the Comoros Islands on specific issues of bilateral cooperation and boosting trade and investment between the two countries.
“Tomorrow I will hold official talks, and cooperation agreements will be signed in several areas, which will boost the economies of our countries and catapult our cooperation,” President Nyusi writes in a post on his Facebook page. “The historic neighbourhood and brotherhood that unite us must be preserved with concrete actions that have a direct impact on the lives of our people”.
Filipe Nuys’s two-day official visit to the Union of the Comoros is made at the invitation of his counterpart, Azali Assoumani.
