Mozambique: Education Minister calls for strategies to prevent mpox spread in schools

Malawi President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will tomorrow Wednesday award an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in International Affairs and Diplomacy (Honoris Causa) to the President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, at the University of Malawi Campus in Zomba. Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba, has confirmed this through a statement citing that the function shall commence at 09 AM.

President of the Republic of Mozambique Filipe Nyusi is scheduled to visit Malawi on Wednesday and Thursday, to undertake official engagements.
The President’s visit is at the invitation of his Malawi counterpart, President Lazarus Chakwera, in recognising the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries.
While in the country, President Nyusi is expected to be awarded an Honorary Degree from the University of Malawi in Zomba.
“I am pleased to announce that The University of Malawi will award an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in International Affairs and Diplomacy (Honoris Causa) to Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi,” said the University’s Registrar, Martin Matululu in a statement released on 26th August 2024.
President Nyusi will also be a special guest at the opening of the 2024 Agriculture Trade Fair in Blantyre, on Thursday.
Malawi and Mozambique share a rich history of cooperation, rooted in their geographical proximity and deep cultural connections.
The two leaders are also expected to conclude the bilateral talks they held in Maputo earlier, following this they will both witness the signing of agreements in areas of air transport and tourism.
