The note states that, in the Northern operational theatre, the CNDS encourages the Defence and Security Forces (FDS) “to make greater efforts to protect the population, as well as to restore order, security and public tranquillity, to promote development and welfare”.
The CNDS also congratulates the FDS on the “successive victories” resulting from the intensification of operations and of their “selfless dedication to the defence of the supreme interests of the Mozambican people, a fact that is reflected in the defeats inflicted on terrorists”.
In the central region, the CNDS praised the leadership of the head of state for the success achieved in the implementation of the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR) of Renamo’s residual men, reinforced by the entry into the process of a significant number of outstanding members of the self-proclaimed Military Junta.
