President Nyusi today announced new restrictive measures to combat Covid-19 in the country.
The new measures will take effect from this Friday, January 15, 2021, and they will last for 21 days..
“We cannot allow our health system to collapse,” said Filipe Nyusi.
The government decided to close casinos, bars,’barracas’,nightclubs, beaches, gymnasiums, cinemas, theatres, museums and galleries.
All commercial establishments must close at 6 p.m..
Private events, including weddings, cannot take place after 8 p.m..
Religious services, conferences and meetings, are allowed, but cannot not exceed 50 people.
Funeral ceremonies cannot exceed 20 people and, in case of death associated with COVID-19, they cannot exceed 10 persons.
There are new rules and opening hours for restaurants and bottle stores.
From Monday to Friday, restaurants are open from 6 am until 8 pm., and on Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m..
Bottle stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.. must close on Sundays . Alcohol drinking in bottle stores is strictly forbidden. The timetable for abottle stores applies for supermarkets that sell alcoholic beverages.
All travellers must present a Covid-19 test.
Expired documents are valid until May 30, 2021.
