President of the Republic Filipe Jacinto Nyusi met a selection of young entrepreneurs in Maputo last Friday, and discussed with them the best use of business opportunities.
The statesman called on young people to put their knowledge and experience of entrepreneurship to use, generating income and jobs within the scope of the national development agenda. “The best way to produce money is through entrepreneurial ideas,” he said.
President Nyusi said that young people had again proven that they were engines of work and employment. “What the young person is now looking for is not a job or a placement, but income. Whether we like it or not, the country is in the hands of the young, although some of them do not want to understand this,” President Nyusi commented.
The head of state also urged those present not to focus on a spirit of being the leader [of a project], but to choose simplicity. “What is happening in the north” involved young people “manipulated by older people” he said, directing young people to concentrate on production and distance themselves from the group launching attacks in the northern districts of Cabo Delgado.
Before meeting the young entrepreneurs, President Nyusi visited the Fresh and Green Hydroponic Production Greenhouse, a vegetable production facility, where he encouraged those responsible to expand production and guarantee the availability of fresh vegetables to the whole population.
