The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, today has led the opening ceremony of the 10th Session of the Land Consultation Forum (FCT) in Maputo this morning.
During the event, representatives of local communities, the public and private sectors, civil society, educational institutions, farmers, women and young people will present their contributions to the proposed Land Law.
The revised Land Law is expected to strengthen security of tenure and use, reduce conflicts and illegal occupations and promote planned urbanization.
It should facilitate access to land for women, young people and private investors, and protect the rights of local communities.
The FCT is an inclusive space for dialogue and reflection, aimed at consolidating the policy and regulatory framework for access, use and exploitation of land in Mozambique, as well as promoting more effective management and administration of this strategic resource.
