President Filipe Nyusi this morning headed the launch ceremony in Maputo of the Renewable Energy Initiative.
The project includes the promotion of renewable energy auctions, a bidding mechanism for projects in the sector, which will contribute to capacity to generate more energy from renewable resources, at lower cost, to the benefit of the final consumer.
Auction by public tender of licenses for the production of energy from renewable sources will increase transparency and competitiveness in the renewable energy sector, attracting potential national and international investors, a note from the Presidency says.
