During a visit to the province of Cabo Delgado which began yesterday, President of the Republic Filipe Nyusi this Friday inaugurated the the Commercial and Industrial Institute in Namauo, Mueda district.
Yesterday, the head of state inaugurated two facilities, one in the city of Pemba and the other in Naminaue, Metuge District.
In Pemba, the president inaugurated a temporary shelter for vulnerable people, mainly families displaced by terrorism and other social groups living in disadvantaged conditions-
The transit centre, located in Pemba’s Maringanha neighbourhood, is designed to serve women, children, the elderly, people with disabilities and the homeless. It is equipped with dormitories, rooms for medical and hospital care and cultivation fields, plus compartments to accommodate homeless people or those in need of hospital care for a maximum period of six months.
The opening of the Pemba transit centre, which cost the state and its European Union partners more than thirty-two million meticais, brings the number of such centres in the country to nine, with a capacity to serve more than two hundred and sixty beneficiaries per month.
Previously, President Nyusi had inaugurated a health centre in Naminaue, Metuge district.
