Mozambique: President heads launch of the new PRM uniform

President Filipe Nyusi directed this morning the closing ceremony of the 38th Basic Course of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) at the Police School of Matalana.
On the same occasion, the Mozambican head of state launched the new police uniform.
The PRM was created by Law nº 19/92 of December 31st, as a paramilitary force integrated in the Ministry of the Interior of Mozambique, replacing the old People’s Police of Mozambique.
The training of PRM agents is carried out by three educational institutions: the Police Academy of Sciences (ACIPOL) in Michafutene, in the district of Marracuene for the training of officers and senior staff, conferring degrees of and masters in police sciences; the School of Police Sergeants (ESAPOL) located in the district of Nhamatanda, which trains sergeants; and the Escola Prática de Matalana (in the district of Marracuene), for the initial training of police agents.
