The Mozambican President Daniel Chapo will this Monday morning preside over the swearing-in ceremony for the members of the State Council at the Presidency of the Republic, in Maputo city.
The members of the Council of State being sworn in today are:
- Alberto Chipande, Graça Machel, and Eduardo Nihia, individuals of recognized merit appointed by the President of the Republic;
- Margarida Talapa, President of the Assembly of the Republic {Parliament Speaker];
- Benvinda Levi, Prime Minister;
- Lúcia Ribeiro, President of the Constitutional Council;
- Joaquim Chissano, Armando Guebuza, and Filipe Nyusi, former Presidents of the Republic;
- Eduardo Mulémbwè, Verónica Macamo, and Esperança Bias, former Presidents of the Assembly of the Republic [Former Parliament Speakers];
- Alcinda Abreu, Maria Massamba, Jamisse Taimo, Aminuddin Mohamad, Albino Forquilha, Ossufo Momade and Lutero Simango, individuals of merit elected by Parliament in accordance with parliamentary representation; and
- Venâncio Mondlane, the second-most-voted candidate for President of the Republic.

Immediately after the inauguration ceremony, the Head of State summons all members of the State Council to the 1st Ordinary Session, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
