Malawi’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that Mozambique President Daniel Francisco Chapo is visiting Malawi for two days from this Thursday, June 5 to Friday, June 6, 2025.
President Chapo is expected to arrive at Kamuzu International Airport, Lilongwe, at 9 a.m. today and depart tomorrow at 2h10 p.m.
According to foreign affairs ministry, the visit aims at strengthening diplomatic relations between Malawi and Mozambique, celebrating 50 years of shared prosperity.
During the visit, President Daniel Chapo will hold bilateral discussions with President Lazarus Chakwera, focusing on deepening and consolidating the longstanding relations between the two countries.
A highlight of the visit will be the joint launch of the Dedza/Calomué One-Stop Border Post in Dedza, a huge development in cross-border cooperation and trade facilitation.
This initiative is expected to enhance trade and economic activities between the two nations.
