Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has appointed Supreme Court Justice Osvalda Joana as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Angola, the Presidency of the Republic announced today.
Osvalda Joana will replace Helena Taipo, who has been detained since April for alleged involvement in a corruption case at the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).
In a note issued today, the Presidency of the Republic states that the appointment of Osvalda Joana was preceded by a hearing of the Superior Council of Judicial Magistrates (CSMJ), the disciplinary body of judicial magistrates, since the new ambassador is a Judge at the country Supreme Court.
