Mozambique calls for immediate action to halt drought and desertification in Africa

President Filipe Nyusi today appointed Amilton Florêncio Alissone as Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, the Presidency of the Republic has announced.
Alissone will replace Manoela Rebelo, who was dismissed by the President of the Republic in June.
The then Minister of Transport and Communications, Janfar Abdulai, was removed from his post at the same time.
Abdulai was replaced by Mateus Magala, who was, at the time of his appointment, Vice President for Human Resources and Corporate Services at the African Development Bank (AfDB).
Amilton Florêncio Alissone leaves his post as Director of Revenue Protection and Loss Control at Electricity of Mozambique EDM, where he had previously been Director of the Maputo City Region and Advisor to the then CEO, Mateus Magala.
