Mozambique: Police rescue 7-year-old boy kidnapped on Wednesday

A seven-year-old boy kidnapped on Wednesday, August 7 was rescued on Thursday night by the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC).
The minor was rescued at a residence in the Zona Verde neighbourhood in Matola municipality.
According to the SERNIC statement, in addition to returning the victim to his family, the police arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in the crime.
“The arrests were made as a result of efforts to clarify the case and rescue the minor,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, the Facebook page Livenews48 reports that the child’s ‘stepfather had been the author of the kidnapping.
